In 2001 Andy Ishii went to Hawaii to watch the yearly "Triple Crown of Suring" championship. There were really big waves that year. He remembered a lot of surfers coming out of the water with their boards under both their arms (in other words broken in two). He won this shirt at the G-Shock booth on Sunset Beach, Oahu.

It is designed by surfer/snowboarder/artist Caia Koopman. I think she has Dutch ancestors, because her family name means "Salesman" in my language. I think she is a funny designer, working with comic figures and bright colors. You can find more info and work of her here and here.
