I don't know exactly why, but in July 1999 Casio decided to bring out a different version of the DW-9900 "Frogman" in the U.S.A., called the "Seaman". It successes the DW-8200 which was released in June 1995 . This version was the first Masters of G model in the Frogman line. The Japanese DW-9900 Frogman was released in April 2000.

The DW-9950 was also the last "Seaman"' model. The GW-200 series were only released as  "Frogman"
