In 2001 I
wrote an E-mail to Casio Europe to ask if it was possible to combine Tough
Solar Technology with Waveceptor Technology into a G-Shock. I had seen the
pictures of the Japanese Antman, and it would be nice to have a watch that's
always on time and never needs a fresh battery. Of course I also asked for
special versions. What do you think of a Men In Yellow Tough Solar Antman or
a Men in Yellow Waveceptor Raysman.
Soon after I
wrote that mail I got an answer that they liked my idea and that my question
was being sent to the Casio headquarters in Japan. It took a while before
something happened, and I was really disappointed that Casio released
Tough Solar Waveceptor watches but no G-Shock's. But finaly, at the end of
2002 there it was, a Tough Solar/Wave-ceptor G-Shock. Unfortunatly only
available in Japan and the US (GRRR...) and absolute useless in Europe.
Finally in
March 2003 there was a European version available. O.K. It's not yellow, and
it's also not really big, but it's finally the G-Shock I wanted for about 2
years.....
