On a rainy Saturday afternoon in June 2007, the postman rings and gives me a package. I expected some packages, but the last thing I expected was one from the UK. Of course I was curious. When I opened the box, there was a letter saying: "A gift for Sjors". To my surprise it hold a G-Shock tin and this basic G-8000 model. I was quiet speechless. It was for a long time on my wanted list and for several times I had almost hit the "Buy it Now" button, but every time there came some other exotic G in-between. It was a gift of Alan (Tribe125), my co-moderator on the G_Shock forum. He had "just" bought a Omega Seamaster and let this one go.

Why is this a great model? It has a very clear display,  with a very futuristic design. The FLASH function is unique and it's a very comfortable watch to wear.
